The Tetons are the cradle of American mountaineering. They are an ideal destination to climb long moderate alpine routes. From the Grand Traverse, a 2-3 day link up of 10 major peaks, to one day outings on some of the long alpine ridges that lead to the high summits, the Tetons are a must-visit destination for an American alpine adventurer. Due to a shortage of overnight permits, you must book at least 6 months in advance. I do all of my Teton guiding for Exum Mountain Guides, who I have been proud to work with for over 10 years. I live in nearby Jackson and work in the Tetons for June-August.
Rates are set by Exum, and depend on the specific route you choose
Accommodation options abound in Jackson. A little known, but highly attractive option is the Alpine House in downtown Jackson. Highly recommended.
Intermediate Climbing & High Level Fitness
While most Teton routes are moderate, by modern standards, the fitness requirements are high. Most routes require 6-8k of elevation gain
